Welcome back to my Wednesday Cricut Journal here on Sally’s Angelworks. This week, I’m sooooo excited to be able to share with you this wonderful fabric line from a wonderful designer with Riley Blake Designs, Tara Reed. I’m also excited to start off the year with a quilt started and finished in the same month thanks to several things! But wait…I’m getting ahead of myself!

Sharing is caring!

I met Tara at Fall Quilt Market this past October. I knew I had heard her name before, and it turns out I used to follow her in scrapbooking magazines when I was 24/7 scrapping! How fun to see her and meet her in the quilting world. I was instantly drawn to her booth because of her amazing designs in her farmhouse line called Homestead Life!

So when I had the chance to create something with her fabric, I jumped!!!! One of my favorite quick quilts to make is Riley Blake’s Xs and Os Baby Quilt on Cricut Design Space. Check out THIS post HERE for my first make using this pattern and how I used my Cricut Maker to speed up the process! This time I picked my favorite fabrics from Tara’s new line, Homestead Life:

Select pieces of Tara’s Homestead Life line!

Here’s how it turned out!!!

Riley Blake Designs Xs and Os Baby Quilt

After piecing the blocks, I went to my local quilt shop and used the Handi Quilter Amara long arm to quilt this sweet baby quilt. I love how it all turned out!! I also love how fast it was to quilt!

The text in this particular fabric is my favorite in the line, so I used a large piece for backing!! Aren’t those cows fabulous????

I wanted a little something to go with the quilt. I decided on a sweet pillow. I followed this tutorial HERE from Carried Away Quilting to create my own darling patchwork pillow. I added sheep buttons (so appropriate!!!) that a sweet friend had given me!

Together these creations are so fun and right up my farmhouse alley!! 😉

Go grab some of this fabulous fabric and get to sewing!!! If you are local to Houston, It Seams to Be Sew has several of her prints in stock right now!! Perfect for your farmhouse decor and for your next baby for whom you are sewing!!!

What project will you make with Homestead Life? I have a list going in my head!! I’ll be sure to share with you if you share with me! Follow me on Instagram at @shopsallysangelworks to see firsthand what I’m making next!

Blessings!
