Want to make a fun gift for your sweet ones? Here are two ideas for you:
This fun mug rug (glorified coaster) is a sample of a set I made for friends as Valentine’s gifts. I took two pieces of 54″ square of fabric and placed batting between them. I then practiced my long arm quilting all over the fabric.
I cut rectangles out and bound them and added sweet words that reminded me of my friends. For the words I used Aurifil 28wt black thread that is perfect for thread painting. I plopped on my free motion foot and “wrote” with the sewing machine.
It’s a fun meaningful quick gift that you can personalize for your loved one.
Here’s another idea…
This year, Julie over at Intrepid Thread is doing a Project of the Month out of this awesome book, Sew Illustrated. This is where I got inspired to thread paint. I also got my 28wt thread from this month’s POM!!
This is such a cute project and perfect for a Valentine’s gift for anyone of your friends…like me! 🙂
You could buy cute new pencils to put inside. Or candy…especially candy if you’re giving it to me! 🙂
This project takes a bit longer than the first project, but it is way worth it!
