Welcome to my first Wednesday Cricut Journal post! I thought it would be inspiring to post weekly about my Cricut projects since I’ve been delighting in this for several years now. My Wednesday Cricut Journal posts will include tips, videos, and lists of inspirational ways you can use your Cricut to create so many new projects with an emphasis on quilting, of course! (Most of the links are affiliate links which means that you are supporting small business (Sally’s Angelworks) when you click on them and purchase! You still get the awesome sale prices that are up in Cricut right now!! Yipeee!)

(Go ahead and share away!!)

Our first post today is the best way for quilters to start with Cricut: a Cricut Gift Guide!!! The very best of Cricut supplies for your fave quilter!! (There may be a few things on this list that I want in my stocking…hint, hint!!)

If you are a quilter, do not hesitate to get this tool!!! This can cut down your cutting time by soooo much! Read all about the Cricut Maker here in this post.

If you are following my Instagram account, you will have seen my Autumn Love Quilt progress (slow but steady!). I have 114 1.5″ squares to cut out for the stars around the house. I’m doing it on my Cricut Maker. It will cut my time by at least half so I will have more time to sew. Praise God!! 🙂

Oh my goodness. This is really the best on the list! I mean, the actual Maker is amazing, but what you get with Access is literally heaven!!! When you sign up for Cricut Access, you get instant unlimited access over 100,000 images, 4,000 projects, and 400 fonts. What does that mean for a quilter? That means that when you want to make a quick baby quilt, you can go to Cricut Access and select a project that is included with your access membership like this quilt below…

Geometric Quilt from Cricut Design Space

Your Cricut will cut out all of the pieces and have instructions on how to sew it all up!! How does it get better than that?

Also, if you love appliqué, with your Cricut Access membership, you have access to so many images that you can cut out. This holiday season, here’s a perfect idea for a gift for your grandkiddos (or your significant other or yourself if you like animals!!)! There won’t be any complicated piece cutting. It’s all done for you! Look how cute:

With a Cricut Access membership, this pattern is completely free!!

I can’t get over how cute that is! I’m just saying!!! 😉

As a fellow appliqué quilter and an iron-on user, the Cricut Bright Pad is a must-have for any quilter! Go here to read much more about how I’ve used the Bright Pad in my quilting. Recently, I’ve used it to help with the placement of my wool applique piecing, too! It’s rare for me not to use it at least once a week!!

the Rotary Cutting Kit

This is on my wish list! I know how well my Cricut cuts. That gives me complete confidence in a rotary cutter and mat. And with a ruler (with 30, 45, and 60 degree lines which we use constantly) to finish the kit, this pack is definitely on my to-buy list!!!

Fabric Scissors Combo Pack

As a quilter, we all need great scissors!! I love my Cricut 8″ fabric shears and 5″ scissors with protective cap. The handles on both are comfy and the blades are sharp. These are perfect for your favorite quilter’s stocking!!!

This pack is also extremely useful in this quilter’s craft room! I use the burnishing tool for loading my fabric onto the fabric mat. I use the little spatula when I cut my fabric into little pieces and have to remove those pieces from my fabric mat. I also use the weeding tool when I use iron-on or vinyl (see below). I use the tweezers in my serger. And there are those amazing scissors again! Great for embroidery thread. Aren’t these tools great?

Washable Fabric Pen

Ohhhhh as an embroiderer, this pen has been a life-saver. Go HERE to see how I used this in my Cricut Maker! With Cricut Access and the 400 fonts you will have access to with your membership, you could make this dresden mini quilt, too (below). Again, perfect for your favorite quilter’s stocking!!

Leather Bundle

This amazing bundle of leather is the perfect material for making exquisite journal covers, sunglasses cases, purses, wallets, etc. I included this material in this gift guide because most quilters love leather! I just saw a fabulous booth at Quilt Market where you could buy leather on which to quilt (see pic below). Fabulous!! This leather would be so fun to quilt on and then cut out into the shape you’d like in your project. Genius!!!

Gypsy Wood Leathers
Everyday Iron-on Sampler

Everyday Iron-On is my jam. Think about the labels you could make, the quilting t-shirts, the pillows that match your quilts, or any other fun project you want to make with iron-on. I put sports logos on everything!! Well, maybe not everything. But everyday Iron-on is so wonderful with cotton. Check out this post HERE to see my Valentine’s Pillows this year. Also, there are so many fun patterned iron-ons that Cricut has for sale! Start with your Basic Sampler! It’s perfect for any t-shirt project!

Fabric Cutting Mat

Don’t forget your mat when you are cutting fabric. You will get a few different mats when you get the Essentials Bundle with your Maker including this fabric mat, but you will want a few extras of this 12″x12″ pink fabric mat and the 12″x24″ mat for longer projects!! These are amazing and they last for many cuts. Yay! Another fun thing to put under the tree for your Cricut-happy Quilter.

You know I love all things Cricut, but these particular 10 items are the bee’s knees for quilters! Also, I’m going to be showing you every Wednesday in the next months how I use all of these and more Cricut products just because they are fabulous!

Coming next week: A Personalized Cricut Christmas

Have a wonderful week!!! Blessings!
