Welcome to Friday’s Fun Five! Sometimes it may contain affiliate links, but most of the time it won’t. This idea comes from a number of bloggers who include fun links to inspire on their blogs or in their newsletters. I thought I’d share what’s inspiring me each week! If you have a fun link or inspiration, do not hesitate to contact me or email me.

Simple Hearts Pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew

In our Houston Modern Quilt Guild, we are doing a fun block raffle. Each block you make earns you a ticket to win ALL of the blocks. And our blocks this month are these heart blocks from Allison Harris’s Simple Hearts Pattern. I’m planning on making 10 blocks. I’m going to cheat and make two blocks per fat quarter. I’m also going to use my Cricut Maker to cut out the blocks so I don’t have to stand for extra time as I’m healing from surgery. heehee! Here’s a LINK to the Cricut file you can use to cut out your blocks, too! (The 2.5″ strips that sash the heart block aren’t included. I’m just using a jelly roll of Moda Bella snow to sash mine.)

Kinship – #100days100blocks by GnomeAngel

My friend Angie has been hosting a #100days100blocks for several years and this year, I’m totally joining in! Luckily for me and my timing with life, it doesn’t start until July. So I have a little bit of time to get myself together. Pop on over to her site to see how it all works. And sign up for Angie’s weekly newsletter. She has so much inspiration in her weekly emails. I’m loving it!!!

Laura Heine’s Cow Collage Pattern – Abilene

I’m super excited about this one. I have no deadline for this quilt, but I really cannot wait to make the big one and the little one! Laura Heine’s patterns are very popular right now with lots of quilt shops offering classes on collage quilting. If you are in my local area (Houston/SugarLand), It Seams To Be Sew is offering this class frequently. Check their site to see when it is offered. I’m hoping to have both cows finished for decorating this year! We’ll see!!

Meadowland Quilt-Along with Then Came June

Ohhhhh this one is coming up soon! I’m soooo excited about making this quilt. I’m excited about being part of a community and sharing my progress, being accountable with each step, and using my brand new Tilda Apple Butter from Intrepid Thread. The quilt is relatively easy, but it’s the perfect medium to show off these gorgeous fabrics. I think Julie has a few more of these bundles over in her shop.

I Heart You Quilt Pattern by Pen + Paper Patterns and Then Came June

Well, I missed this QuiltAlong on Instagram, BUT I’m still making this quilt. I roped a friend into making this with me. I just can’t get over how cute this is in any color!! I picked some other Tilda fabric (mainly teal) to make this one. I’ll show you next week after I get together and sew with my friend on Monday. What fabrics would you pick for this quilt???

I’m hoping to do a few YouTube videos on some fun skills while I make these quilts like chain-piecing. Hopefully by then I’ll be wearing make-up again…hahahah!! (See my personal IG for my surgery journey!)
