I’m delighted to share this project with you today!!! This week, using my Cricut Maker, I made a baby quilt in around four hours!! Yay!! And it’s beautiful.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

Please pin! We love sharing!!

The creative mind hive with Cricut came up with the idea of Quilt Kits. They sent me one of their Riley Blake Quilt Kits, and I got to choose which pattern I wanted to make. I chose the Riley Blake X’s and O’s Baby Quilt.

Have you ever seen the Cricut Maker in action? I have a fun video (eek!!) of me headless showing you how the Maker works cutting out the baby quilt. I know you are so excited to watch it!!!

Some fun points: There are 9 mats of fabrics cut; 3 background fabrics (white triangles) and 6 print fabrics (middle pieces). The rotary blade is the best thing out there since sliced bread!!! I cannot stress this enough! And Cricut has replacement blades!! So awesome. Also, my sweetie pie third child recorded some uke music for me to use! Hope you love it as much as I do…you’ll be hearing it!

Here’s my quilt-making process:

  • Cut out the quilt using the Cricut Maker. (See video above)
  • Sew the background triangles to the print fabrics to create 5.5″ blocks using chain piecing for faster piecing. (See video below)
  • Following the pattern’s key for fabric placement, make larger X and O 10″ (finished) blocks.
  • Add your 3″ border around the sides.
  • Quilt, bind, and take loads of pictures of your gorgeous baby quilt!
chain piecing at it’s best!!!
After the background pieces are chain pieced on…
An “X” block
Quilting process on an “O” block
It finishes 35″x45″.
Can you find where I quilted the word “baby” on there?

Did I mention I am going to be a MawMaw in about 5 months??? This is the perfect Granny-Make!!! I love that Cricut has so many fun things MawMaws can make for their babies!! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my wild videos with my Cricut Maker and my quilt! What quilt do you want to make in lickety-split time???? Or would you rather just peruse someone else’s makes? Would you like me to whip up another for you? Drop me a line. I’d love to make another X’s and O’s quilt for you and your baby!

Come back on Friday to see a new set of Friday’s Fun Five!!

Blessings,
