Ohhhh I love this Quilt Along so much!! You will love it when you are finished!
This is the bed runner I’m making!
My darling friend, Tita came over and sewed with me on Monday. She finished up all of my red blocks (4 of them!!) while I finished the last four blue ones. So today, we are ready for the next block, and then next week, we can add borders and quilt it up! We want a little bit of time before Christmas to enjoy it, right?
Here’s my tree block:
Remember I’m doing the bed runner, Julie is doing the lap size, and Brooke is doing the table runner.
Hop on over to Brooke’s blog to get the tutorial for this awesome tree that Julie designed.
Some of my tips:
If you are doing the table runner, you will use all of your HSTs you make! If you are doing the bed runner, you may have some left over depending on the different fabrics you want to change up! What I love about this tree is it’s organic. You can use any fabric you want! You can even use just one fabric (I may do that and make a tree quilt for next year!!!!) and not worry about which fabrics are where.
Julie has an adaptation for the lap size as the tree is a lot bigger for that one.
Also, I LOVE bloc-loc rulers. Go and get a 6.5″ Bloc-loc ruler, and, along with Jesus, your life will be complete! I promise!!! No more “If only ____” You’ve got it all!
Go ahead and take some “TREAT YO’SELF” time and finish this project. This Cottage fabric just makes our hearts sing, doesn’t it?
Here’s my almost finished bed runner! (Next week we add borders and quilt and bind it!!)
And here’s me trying to get a good picture of it with my sweet daughter and rambunctious cat!!
Let us know you are sewing along! I can’t wait to see all of the Christmas bed runners, table runners, and lap quilts!
