Last weekend, I went away…

I went to Austin…

…to participate in this little thing called QuiltCon!

QuiltCon is an annual quilter's conference put on by the National Modern Quilt Guild. It celebrates the many facets of modern quilting and brings together modern quilters from all over the world. Being the president of the Houston chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild, I decided this year I would go all out and stay the entire time! I also decided early on that I would make an outfit for everyday of the conference. It's a bit crazy, but it certainly was fun making and wearing new clothes!!

{there really is a lot more to QuiltCon than what I wore, and I'll have a couple posts about that!}

Friday, I wore this skirt made from Echino Hipster Deer fabric and cotton and steel double gauze for the ruffles! I used a pattern from Jona's book The Essential A-Line! (It's my fourth skirt from that book!! worth it!!!)

Saturday, I totally forgot to take a pic in my hotel room, so I got Debbie to take one at our quick dinner/tapas before our big party with Region 2 Quilters (more about that later!). This dress is for sure my favorite!! It is using Ellen Luckett Baker's Charms Sheep fabric from Kokka. I made it using the Wiksten Tank Dress pattern. Sheep are the best! ♥

 Here's me on Sunday! I love this new blouse called the Summer Blouse pattern from Heather Ross's book, Weekend Sewing. I used Amy Butler's voile…comfy and wonderful with double gauze from cotton and steel for the placard!

Monday, we had a leadership conference! So I wore my new skirt that was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. I used a pattern from Deborah Moebes book, Stitch by Stitch. Love this pattern! (I have several skirts using this pattern, too!! I think I really like skirts!!) Aren't those pockets fun???

and that's it…that's what I wore to QuiltCon!

I also traded buttons with a bunch of people! Check out my instagram for all of our wild #selfieswithsally.

I had made this little mini quilt to hold all of my "flair" after quilt market.

Here's what it looks like with all that I picked up at QuiltCon.
