{finishes, secrets, and fresh starts…}

I've been away…doing a little bit of this and that…

…a little bit of navel gazing…

…and a lot of sewing!

I finished up this sweet little baby quilt for a friend's grandbaby…

I found the Texas map panel at my LQS and she picked up the other fabrics.

The baby's name is Austin, so I couldn't help but put a little heart right on Austin, TX.

I quilted it with fun little lassos all over!! Yep, I live in Texas!! ♥

I also whipped up my Stash Bee block for this month…Actually, I guess I should show you all of my bee blocks since January…

Here's January…

Here's February…

and here is this month's…

I love crazy quilts and improvisational blocks! I hope Sami likes it!! :)

I've also done some secretive sewing lately…

I'll get to reveal this beauty soon!!

It's one of my faves!! Be sure to be following Carrie over at Such Designs to see more excitement with this…

And another secret project that I'm totally in love with…I'll let you know when I can reveal this, but hopefully, it won't be for a while…LOL!!!

Both of the above secret projects were quilted by my bff, Pam Biswas! I am in love with her quilting! I do love quilting myself, but when the project is a little bigger (and time sensitive!), I have no issue running up to her house with my quilt top!! (and batting and backing!!!) So, if you live in the Houston area, especially the West side, you've got a friend in Pam when it comes to long arm quilting! ♥♥♥

Speaking of the West side of town, I've found (thanks to the girlies of the Houston Modern Quilt Guild, Patty Sloniger to be exact!!) a new LQS that I am LOVING!

CJ's Quilt Shop!

I went there last week to talk to the owner about donations for the HMQG meeting, and I ended up spending a little money and getting some sewing work for her shop!!

I thought this panel was super cute!! So I grabbed some fat quarters and created this top! China (the owner) is a long armer, so she wanted to quilt the top! I can't wait to see it done!! ♥

I had some leftover fabrics, so I'm making a hand-quilted pillow cover….

(with my fun pouch that I got from our HMQG March swap!!! LOVE!!!)

I hope to have this on my finishes next week for sure!!!

I also hope to have a better direction for the shop soon…I'm always revamping, needing a fresh newness in the spring. Like my literal spring cleaning isn't enough! I need to clean out the shop, too!!

What are you finishing or starting this weekend???
