Here's the drama…
Fried Chicken…
to say I was intimidated was an understatement.
But i forged ahead…
1st mistake – I only bought one fryer chicken so I cut the batter recipe in half…WRONG!!
I did soak the chicken overnight…*sigh*
Second mistake, I didn't cover the chicken all over with the batter, so it was pretty dismal.
Third mistake, I think I needed to fry a little longer!!
The recipe called to fry the chicken and then bake it to finish cooking it. Apparently the frying didn't work well enough…because two hours later, the chicken wasn't done!!
These wonderful people are the best!!! See how they are smiling? the chicken wasn't anywhere near done!! The mashed taters were really gorgeous!! π
Such a sweetie…sooooo I gave up, mr gorgeous took over, cooked it to finish it, and I ate mashed potatoes for dinner!! The next day I did have a salad with the chicken on it…
*sigh*
So my dear mom said not to give up, but at this point I'm thinking I don't have to be great at everything!!! π
