Ohhhh thanks for joining me on my journey to cook through the Pioneer Woman's cookbook!! There are some scary recipes for me (although no lobster, like in Julie and Julia!! *whew*!!!), and this week I conquered a quasi-fear of FRYING!!!! yay!!!! amazing, i tell you!!! Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself…
First, I made the Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwich (well, I made a couple of them!) and served them with chips and the leftover artichoke dip…YUmmmy!!
Here are some of the during pics!!
{i finally got to use the little itty bitty tabasco sauce!! awesomeness!!}
the family obviously LOVED 'em!!!
So…we had a bunch of wonderful meals this week…
but I didn't cook a bunch just because of time and plans…
{at Chappell Hill Cafe!! wonderful, wonderful little place!!}
Tonight I did it!!
I fried Beef Cubed Steak – to make Chicken Fried Steak!!
Omgosh!! I have never actually fried anything ever!! Not with a flour wrapper!!
And I've attempted gravy a million times…never has it come out this fantastic!!
This will be on the menu often at our house! All of my kids really ate it well!!
and Mr Gorgeous and I? ooooohhhhh we could NOT stop talking about it ALL night!!
*sigh* awesomeness!! (Cora's new word!!)
So here is the journey of the Chicken Fried Steak…
Ree had pictures of exactly how to do this…so I do too…
{she included the empty plate pic, so I had to, too!! LOL!!}
my helper, Emma, warmed up the creamy mashed potatoes I made for Easter dinner!! ohhh they were perfection with the steak!!! ๐ She also made the Caesar salad…
what a meal!! yummmmmmm!!
So next week, I hope to dig a little into the sweets part of the cookbook!!
If you don't have this book yet, omgosh!! run out and get it!! yummmmy!!!
thanks for supporting me and my cooking!! :)
I made the Chicken Spaghetti last night yum!
WTG Sally … who’d have thought gravy could evoke such emotions!!! LOL!!!! Hugs, sue.falstaff
i’m so impressed, ol’ sister of mine, that you can fry AND make gravy! i have managed to avoid gravy and that’s maybe because i don’t like it?
