Ohhhh, I was hoping for a male perspective today on the blog, but Mr Gorgeous is in CA this week working on his projects and fighting the hotel internet connection, so I'm giving him another week to give his point of view!! (there are always two sides of the story!!)

So, I was on the forums over at Love and Respect, and I happened  upon a post of a wife who was having a rough time of it. Our daily situations may not be as bad as this woman's, but there comes a time when we all are not living the life abundant that Christ promises us.

"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

 I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."

{JN 10:10b-11)

While I was reading the responses to this woman, I happened upon a response that really needed to be shared. This is for you and me, too…for when we are only thinking about the bad things, the negative things, for when we are losing hope,…hope that that abundant life will come…hope for a healthy marriage…hope for well-educated, morally sound children…hope for all of the desires He puts in our hearts…Don't lose that hope. Listen to this:

Keep your spirits high by focusing on the good things, and let the negative go. Go out to the yard, grab a handful of dirt, hold it out and squeeze it tightly feeling it on your skin, and then slowly relax and open your fingers and let the dirt fall away. That dirt represents all the negative thoughts, all the pain. Practice letting go of it. Then wash your hands, and think about how lovely it feels to have clean hands. This is how your spirit feels when you let go of your anger, anxiety, and pain.

Isn't that awesome? I am writing that here for me to remember, too. I get in ruts of negative thinking that take over my hope. It reminds me of my 8yo, Lillian and her stomach box. One night at dinner, she was asking for dessert and I told her I thought she said she was full! I then turned around and continued to talk to my sister-in-law. All of a sudden, I heard this little voice saying behind me in a very quiet darling voice, "This is my stomach box. It says it's full, full, full. This is my dessert box. It says it's hungry, hungry, hungry!!" Our hope box is hungry, hungry, hungry…and our hope comes from the Lord!! Singing unto Him helps, too…just saying!! :)

Here is one last scripture to give you a little hope today!!

{this is from the Message, Acts 2:22…love this vernacular!!}

 "David said it all: I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; he's right by my side. I'm glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I've pitched my tent in the land of hope. I know you'll never dump me in Hades; I'll never even smell the stench of death. You've got my feet on the life-path, with your face shining sun-joy all around."
