When I see the word "REVELRY", I just want to jump up and down and party!! LOL!!! And that's what we are going to do today!! For several reasons…MR Gorgeous is coming home tomorrow afternoon, I get to stamp with dear friends tonight, and I get to share a GORGEOUS project with you today!! AND A FREEBIE!!! yipeee!! Now, don't you want to jump up and down???

So, I'm in a couple of missionary prayer groups. This means that I have committed to pray for several families that are working in missionary situations right now! (I firmly believe we are ALL missionaries to all of those around us…just saying!) In order to combine all of my prayer points in one place, I needed a Prayer Journal. 

I have a friend who shared once at a women's retreat I attended the beauty of a prayer journal: You can use a black pen and a red pen. Write your requests in black, and when you stop to listen during your prayer time (a VITAL part of prayer!!!), God will talk to you…write His words to you in RED!!! I LOVE this idea.

So I got to thinking…I need to use some of my COOL stash and create a little journal from scratch to use! And I did it yesterday…love this!!!

Here's the front…

To create the front and back cover, I took two pieces of cardboard and covered them in fabric (MODA vintage) using a glue stick. I inked the edges with Ranger Distress Ink (Burlap!) and used a Heidi Swapp bird mask and some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to create the birdie at the top. 

I stamped the title using Staz-On ink (jet black) and a retired alpha from SU – classic alpha. *sigh* i love that!!

The buttons I got from this very, very, very cool place called SCRAP in San Francisco. My friend Deb drove me around the city and using her new TomTom, we found this cool Artist Recycling place! Check it out if you are in the area!! wow!!!

This cameo was $.50 from SCRAP. uh, yeah…check it out!! 🙂

Several years ago, another friend and I (and a third fun girlie!!) went on a Quilt shop hop and I came home with loads of those fun Vintage Needle packets. This paper is half of one of those!! I am loving these ladies here!! soo fun!!

I had acquired a lot of interior designer samples from my MIL's boss several years ago. I am determined to use, use, use my stash!! I also love to use my Big Shot to punch out fabric shapes, like this butterfly. I sewed all of the material together before I attached it to the book front. *sigh*

For the inside, I cut out a bunch of different pieces of card stock and adhered several sheets together (to hide some of the backs of the patterned paper!! heheee!!). I also used some Basic Grey paper to use as end papers on my covers. 

So the ribbons on the back edge are a serendipity…I used my BIND-IT-ALL to punch holes in my coversmi and inside papers to bind the book. When I was punching the back cover, I accidentally punched the wrong side. I wouldn't normally admit to such crazy crafting mistakes, but I figured that here's an opportunity to show that, in crafting, you never have "mistakes!" Only opportunities!! 🙂 I just filled all of those punched holes in with my ribbon stash! LOVE it!!!

Here's the back…This designer tag was from the card the fringe from the front was on. 

Some patterned paper was added and my fave, a GREAT scripture…

Still working on my handwriting…I like it…and I think my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Hughes would be proud…or at least she would think a little bit of her arduous 3-hour-a-night handwriting homework paid off!! LOL!!! 

And yes, my soul does wait for HIM!! I'm excited about this prayer journey I'm about to embark on, too!! He is my Hope!! 🙂

ON the outside I added several fun ribbons and on the inside I added a beaded ribbon and a big fat brown ribbon to use as a bookmark! 

All in all, I'm thrilled with the way this turned out!! And I can't wait to get to praying!! :)
